Richard Moody

Port Captain

Mr. Moody began his nautical career in the Bristol Bay commercial fishing fleet.  In 1969 he co-founded a tug and barge company, Moody’s Sea Lighterage, with his father and brother.  In addition to Bering Sea fishing experience, Mr. Moody has participated in numerous new build projects and vessel renovations.  He maintains a current USCG Master of Towing license and Tankerman credential.  In addition to extensive maritime experience, Mr. Moody managed Moody’s Petroleum in Iliamna, AK from 1989 to 1999.  Since 1999, Mr. Moody has held key operational positions in several major Alaska petroleum transportation companies.

 

Michael Stanton

Terminal Manager

Mr. Stanton comes to Vitus Energy with nearly twenty years’ experience in the Alaska fuel industry, with most of that time spent in Bethel.  In 1995 he became foreman at Bethel Fuel Sales (BFS), responsible for the daily operation of the marine terminal and tank farm, as well as facilities and equipment maintenance.  He continued in that role after BFS was acquired by Yukon Fuel Company in 2000, and was promoted to interim Terminal Manager in 2004.  In 2010, he was promoted to Terminal Manager, responsible for all phases of marine terminal and tank farm management, and the safe transportation, storage, and sale of tens of millions of gallons annually.  Since 2010 he has held several management positions overseeing rural petroleum assets and operations.

 

Ingo Rose

Tanker Manager

Mr. Rose has nearly 20 years of work experience in the maritime industry with a specialty in tank ships.  His career started in the North Atlantic as an apprentice in a shipping company operating general and petroleum carriers.  After graduation from the apprenticeship program he continued to work for the same organization in the capacity of Operations Manager before taking up his academic studies. He graduated with a Master’s of Science degree with a concentration in Marine Transportation and Port Management from the University of Oldenburg, Germany.  He subsequently assumed the role of Fleet Manager for a medium-sized container ship company.  He left Germany at the end of 2001 to join a Vancouver-based firm, focusing on new ship building projects in the Far East. Since 2003 he has held commercial / operational / technical positions with chemical parcel tanker owners and operators.

 

Mike Poston

Director of Sales

Mr. Poston began work in the Alaska Fuel industry in 1984 with a start-up company that later became Delta Western.  Over the next 25 years he filled a variety of roles as company revenue grew to over 40 times the starting level.  Mr. Poston left Delta Western in 2009 as Vice President for Western Alaska.  During his tenure he helped fuel the success of customers from a broad cross section of Alaska industries including fisheries, marine, mining, aviation, construction, village corporations, electrical generation, school districts and more.  Mr. Poston has called Alaska home since 1971. He has both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Alaska.
