Vitus Marine Acquires Anchorage FBO

Anchorage, AK –  October 29, 2012  –  Vitus Marine, LLC broadens its fuel delivery capabilities in Alaska with the acquisition of Great Circle Flight Services (Great Circle), a fixed-base operator (FBO) at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.  Vitus members Shaen Tarter and Justin Charon started GCFS in 2005 to provide FBO services and fuel to local and transient turbine aircraft at South Airpark – PANC.  Its customer base includes many Fortune 500 flight departments that use Anchorage as a fuel stop en route to the Far East, as well as Alaska-based aircraft serving a variety of industries.  Great Circle was sold in 2007 to national FBO chain Ross Aviation.

Vitus Marine provides fuel and transportation services across Western Alaska and will soon service the rail belt through a Port Mackenzie fuel terminal.  Vitus is acquiring Great Circle from Ross Aviation to continue expansion of Vitus’s operations in all areas of commercial fuel supply, aviation support, and marine transportation services.  Justin Charon said, “It is a pleasure to get back into the Anchorage aviation market.  Great Circle has a highly trained staff and a great customer base.  This acquisition not only enhances our ability to provide excellent stop-over service, but also gives us the opportunity to provide unique solutions to our customers in Alaska’s industries such as oil field support, fisheries, mining, and charter aviation.”
